This portrait of my mum, Jean, is part of a series documenting her experience with dementia. Her clothing reflects both her lost identity as a dress designer and her vibrant past. As an active member of Women’s Aid and a human rights advocate, she has helped many over the years. While dementia threatens her memories, I aim to preserve them in each brushstroke of this painting.
